Differences Between Foam Wheels and Hollow Titanium Wheels
Release time :
Oct 10,2025
Source :
Foam wheels refer to wheels injection-molded from plastic materials, featuring dimensional stability and low shrinkage rate.
Foam wheels and hollow titanium wheels differ in material composition, wear resistance, and safety characteristics:
● Material Differences: Foam wheels are injection-molded plastic wheels, while hollow titanium wheels feature rubber vulcanized directly onto the rim.
● Wear Resistance: Foam wheels resist corrosion and aging with excellent wear resistance, particularly against organic solvents, strong acids, and weak alkalis. Hollow titanium wheels exhibit poor wear resistance and are susceptible to corrosion and aging from organic solvents, strong acids, and weak alkalis.
● Safety: Foam wheels have low elasticity, making them suitable for flat environments but offering relatively lower safety. Hollow titanium wheels possess high elasticity, making them suitable for harsh environments with relatively higher safety.

Foam plastics are based on thermoplastic or thermosetting resins containing numerous micro-pores. Foaming is a key plastic processing method. Foamed plastics produced through this process contain gas, solid-gas mixtures, and solid components. Gas exists within the foam as bubbles. Cells separated from each other are called closed cells, while connected cells are termed open cells, resulting in closed-cell and open-cell foams. Whether a foam is open-cell or closed-cell depends on the raw material properties and processing techniques.
